Meet Kevin

A Familiar Voice,
A Trusted Neighbor

Kevin Elkins is a longtime Montgomery radio personality, best known as the host of the talk show "Decisions." For more than 35 years on NewsRadio 1440 (WNTZ) with Cumulus Media, he's built a reputation for a broadcast style that puts logic and philosophy ahead of standard political rhetoric.

Off the air, he's a U.S. Army veteran, an experienced computer technician and owner of the local business Computer Commuter, and a graduate of Chaminade University of Honolulu, where he studied philosophy. Originally from South Bend, Indiana, he made Montgomery home more than 35 years ago — and, in his own words, he's a father and a "very, very regular guy."

"I've spent thirty-five years talking through the hard questions on the air. Now I'm ready to help answer them at City Hall."
A Voice Montgomery Knows

Decisions with Kevin Elkins

For more than 35 years, "Decisions" has been a daily conversation about the ideas shaping our city and our country — current events weighed against logic, philosophy, and plain common sense. No script, no spin, no political correctness. It is Montgomery's longest-running talk radio show.

Service Before Self

Served Faithfully
& Honorably

Before he ever picked up a microphone, Kevin Elkins answered the call to serve. He gave years to the United States Army, earning the rank of Sergeant and an honorable retirement from the armed forces.

He served with the 2nd Battalion, 75th Infantry (Rangers), 1st Special Forces Group, and the 82nd Airborne Division — a graduate of the U.S. Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, where he earned his Airborne Wings. His postings carried him from Fort Lewis to Baumholder, Germany and Korea.

That service shaped how he leads: with integrity, accountability, and a duty to the people he represents. It's the standard he'll bring to every decision on the City Council.

Priorities for District 3

The Work Ahead

A practical, neighborhood-first agenda focused on the issues District 3 families talk about every day.

01

Safe Neighborhoods

Support our first responders and invest in community policing and youth outreach that prevents crime before it starts.

02

Streets & Infrastructure

Fix the roads, drainage, and lighting residents have waited on for years — and hold the city accountable to a real timeline.

03

Jobs & Small Business

Champion local entrepreneurs and bring good-paying jobs and investment back into our District 3 corridors.

04

Youth & Seniors

Protect programs and safe spaces for our young people, and make sure our seniors and veterans are never left behind.

05

Clean Communities

Tackle blight, illegal dumping, and neglected lots so every block in District 3 reflects the pride of the people who live there.

06

Open Government

Bring transparency and regular, in-person town halls to City Hall so residents always know how decisions get made.

Our Shared Vision

"I've called Montgomery home for 35 years. Serving District 3 isn't a stepping stone — it's the whole reason I'm running. Let's build a city our children are proud to call home."
